Life on the ranch

  We had a new colt born from our mare “Cowgirl” at 1am this morning! It’s sure hard to stand! Mama giving encouragement… He did it!

There is nothing more wonderful than coming home from school to check on the new baby horse. There is nothing better than Daddy letting you coming in and pet the new baby after the baby has nursed. The next post will be on helping a first time mare learn how to nurse her new foal.

  We have a new colt born this morning at about 6:15am. Josh went down to the barn about 3 minutes after the colt was born. He was still in the sack with his nose poking out and already trying to stand up. Josh pulled back the sack and pulled the umbilical cord.
