Life on the ranch

The cattle truck came today. We run cattle on our place every year for some people that have a really nice group of registered hereford cows.  They are beautiful cows! In the summer the mountain grazing here is amazing and the cattle do really well on it.

Big sisters are so handy sometimes.   They help you catch your horse and tie it up for you so you can brush it.   “Don’t worry, my sister will come and help me saddle you up.”   They help you put the saddle on. “Yep, she’s doing it right.”   And sisters will even help you get up on the horse since it’s so high up off the ground.   “Now it’s time to…

We have a bald eagle that lives in trees on and around the ranch.  I caught some pictures of him today  that I thought I’d share.   In the pictures below he is carrying a huge chunk of moss so he must have been making a nest.  I think this bird is so beautiful and majestic!  It’s no wonder that the bald eagle is our national bird.             Speaking of…
