Indoor Horse Arena

November 18, 2013   //   Life on the ranch

We have been looking at building an indoor horse arena for a long time now.  It’s something that is desperately needed where we live.  We are hoping to put one in this next spring and summer.

We’ve launched a fundraiser campaign to assist us in this effort.

Here are the project details:

We are putting together the funding for an 80′ 160′ indoor horse arena. It would expand the riding abilities of the community and allow the ability to ride during the long snowy winters and mud season in the spring. Currently there is nothing in our area during these long winters for people to ride horses in. It is a much needed facility to continue to allow adults and children alike to enjoy their horses and improve their skills. Most buildings of this size cost upwards to $350k. However, we would use materials that we have here at the ranch in conjunction with other items such as lighting, sand, and trusses that we have gathered at a lower cost. Thus this size of building can be built at a much lower cost. We would do all of the work in putting this building together. The effects of having a building like this would be tremendous- kids would be able to start their summer much farther ahead with their horses than they currently do. Right now, most people take all summer just getting their horses back to where they were before the snow fell. It would also provide other things to do in these long winters. Most importantly people can continue working on their horse goals and dreams year round.
